When Laura announced on a local mom’s group that she was diagnosed with breast cancer and was looking to get boudoir photos done before her double-mastectomy, I immediately knew this was something I deeply wanted to do for her. I was honored to take on the roll to document something so special to this client – something she would look back on forever as a way to commemorate her body.
We brought on my makeup artist, Karly Cannon, who made her feel amazing! Laura was seeking a dramatic, edgy, sexy look. We achieved nothing less! I adore her love of black and white photos, because I too think they make for some seriously beautiful, timeless images.
The reveal of the images took place in the midst of her recovery from surgery and on the day that she found out some good news. Seeing tears in her eyes when I revealed her images was incredibly heart-wrenching. I am so grateful for the opportunity to document something so meaningful for her. I wish her all of the physical, emotional, and mental strength the next year as she continues her fight!
