When Kelley contacted me asking if I would be interested in shooting her and Matt’s wedding, I was honored. She was aware I was not experienced in the wedding industry, but she trusted me to document their special day beautifully. Wedding photography has been my dream job, and at the time I only had experience with families and children. I knew this was a huge responsibility and I wanted to make sure I did not let them down. I found two second shooting jobs, and practiced for months preparing. By the time the day came, I felt ready and so excited!
Kelley and Matt had a full and beautiful wedding day in San Diego. They began the morning getting married at the gorgeous San Diego Temple, and were then greeted by family and friends. I took shots of them there with family and the bridal party. It was an honor to be there at this very special and happy morning with them.
The ring ceremony and reception took place in rustic Jamul of East San Diego. It was a gorgeous property, and the home of the mother of the bride’s cousin. After Kelley and the bridesmaids got ready, I took some fun and stunning pictures of them in the trees. I then had a great time working with the groomsmen and getting them to laugh at the silliness of doing a guy’s shoot. Everyone did amazing!
The ring ceremony was beautiful, taking place in the rose garden, and surrounded by trees rustling in the wind. Kelley and Matt radiated happiness and you could feel their love for each other and excitement to spend forever together.
The reception was fun and lively, and the dance floor was packed. It was a blast seeing everyone having such a great time. When the time came, Kelley and Matt exited through a long line of friends and family holding sparklers.
I had such a great time shooting the moments throughout Kelley and Matt’s wedding day. It was such a privilege to be the one to document these special memories.
