Kelley and Matt have such a sweet and playful connection! The love and affection between them is so visible and showed in every shot. This was my first opportunity to do a wedding portrait shoot, and I couldn’t be happier with how it went. Of course I was a bit nervous as I wanted the photos to be perfect for them. As soon as we started shooting and I saw just how comfortable they were with each other in front of the camera, we all had so much fun and got some amazing shots.
We started with the first look. Matt waited at the end of a beautiful path in the trees for Kelley to walk up behind him. The moment was filled with pure joy when they saw each other! It was such a special moment that I was so incredibly honored to capture.
Sunset Cliffs wasn’t our first choice for their portraits. We were planning to take them at Cabrillo Monument, but we found out that the park closes too early. Sunset Cliffs is just down the hill a few miles right next to Point Loma Nazarene University. The cliffs above the ocean and sprinkled with wildflowers made for the perfect gorgeous setting for this shoot!
Their wedding followed three days later, and it was so great knowing that we already got so many amazing photos, allowing them to enjoy their day even more. We got a ton of beautiful shots on their wedding day, and of course I can’t wait to share those soon!
